8 Boxes, 8 People, one government branch and one pandemic. ‘Boxes’ is set in an alternate reality in which Britain is brought to its knees by a Viral Pandemic. ‘Relaxation Centres’ have been set up across the country, by the Government Branch ‘Her Majesty’s Protection Service’, where 8 random citizens are forced to live in contained boxes as a means of protection. Boxes explores the lives of 8 individuals never met before; some find love, others find madness, but all discover death.
Performed live and broadcast onto a Cyclorama at the front of the stage, ‘Boxes’ includes digital technologies into the traditional practices of theatre.
